Recurring appointment on first Wednesday after Labour Day in Apple Calendar

I want a recurring appointment that occurs on the first Wednesday after Labour Day each year.

For example:

  • In 2025
    • Labour Day = Monday Sep 1st
    • 1st Wed After Labour Day = Wed Sep 3rd (also the first Wednesday of September)
  • In 2027:
    • Labour Day = Monday Sep 6th
    • 1st Wed After Labour Day = Wed Sep 8th
    • 1st Wed in September = Wed Sep 1st

So, the Custom calendar setting options in the Calendar app do not appear to be able to handle this simple request.

Can someone show me how to do it?

Either through the Custom setting (in case I'm missing something)...or through some hack/alternative.

Thanks in advance.

The recurring appointment function in the Apple Calendar app is ... limited. I suggest you try a third party app like Week Cal. It has very nice recurring event options. You don't have to actually use it as a calendar app. Once it sets up the event, it will appear in your Apple Calendar app. Of course, you may find it has other features you like.
