How can I fix mouse lag on M4 Pro Mac Studio?

Ever since upgrading to the M4 Pro Mac Studio, I am noticing that the mouse will start out silky smoothy, then periodically become laggy, back to smooth, laggy again. The laggy intervals become longer as the smooth intervals shorter.

It makes the entire experience of using the M4Pro very unpleasant. I was using an Intel based Late 2019 Cheese Grater Mac Pro before this and it did not have this issue (same mouse). Does anyone have a solution that isn't the misguided 'change your monitor' excuse? It's not that.

Mouse is a Logitech MX Master 35, but it was doing this with a Razer mouse as well.
