why does my table keep changing column and row sizes that I set

I’m trying to create a table in pages with specific column and row heights that are not uniform. Eg alternating row heights of 1cm then 0.5cm and columns of different widths. The table is resetting my chosen sizes. I assume there’s some default width and height set? Is there a way to turn this off or is it a different problem

Pages tables often resize themselves because the “resize rows to fit cell contents” option is enabled. Try selecting your table, opening the Format panel, and unchecking that option so it stops adjusting row and column sizes automatically. After that, set the exact heights and widths you want in the same panel. Pages should then respect your custom measurements instead of resetting them.
