Repeated calendar alerts on iPhone despite clearing them

I’ve seen older posts with this problem but no solutions other than turning off alerts. I have to have my alerts but don’t need them on repeat once I’ve cleared it.

Does anyone have a solution other than turning them off completely? That won’t work for me.

I just got an alert for a job I’ve been at for 20 minutes & out of the blue I received another alert.
