Apple cash balance not updating after receiving payment through messanger 4 hours ago.

Received a message through messenger for 500 and my Apple Cash is not updating showing $0 but cash was sent 5 hours ago. I use this all the time and have settings for it to be automatically added

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 18

Please confirm that you are using the Messages application and it was not a SMS message. On the top of the conversation where you see the message, if it says "Text Message", then it is a SMS message and the only legitimate Apple Cash transfer would be from one that shows "iMessage".


It may be the case that you have to verify your identity. This can happen more than once, but usually you will see a message indicating that when viewing your Apple Cash card in the Wallet or Settings. Does the transaction show in your Wallet with any attached message?

That’s Apple Messages, formerly iMessage, not Messenger. I know, it’s confusing and easy to mistype etc. You’ll need to contact an Apple Cash Specialist at Green Dot Bank.


Have you contacted the sender? It’s possible the transfer was suspended waiting input on the senders end. The current administration has tightened up anti fraud requirements and this could be affecting the transfer.
