Unable to Sign Out of “Find My” on Old MacBook – iCloud Account Not Found

I recently purchased a new MacBook and successfully transferred all my data from my old MacBook. After the transfer, I attempted to erase everything from the old device.

When trying to sign out of Find My, I was prompted to enter the password for an iCloud account associated with the email. This is an old email of mine that I haven’t used in a long time, and I no longer remember the correct password.

I attempted to reset the password, but the system responded that this account cannot be found or is not associated with an Apple ID. I also tried to sign in to iCloud using this email, but received the same message.

Because of this, I’m currently unable to sign out of Find My or erase the MacBook.

Could you please advise me on how to proceed?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.5
