MacBook "sleep/hibernation and restore" issues after Sequoia update

Ever since a recent version update to Sequoia (maybe 2 or 3 updates ago) if I leave my MacBook idle for just a short time.. I mean just long enough to go take a poo, to check the mail or to order a new coffee at the counter.. when I get back it's gone to "sleep" ("hibernation".. whatever) and I've lost ALL my unsaved work!

This happens whenever I don't have the MacBook plugged into the charger. It never use to do this. I could walk away from it, and come back 30 min later if needed, and after pressing the power button, it would restore everything to the point when I stepped away..

But now, any unsaved progress in Fusion360 is just gone. This is so frustrating, especially if I just started a new project/design, and have yet to save the initial file.. Same with 3D Printers Slicer application; If I have a project opened, ready to print, but go to the Printer to ensure the bed is clear, there is filament loaded, and when I get back to the MacBook, its off already, I press the power button, it starts back up, but the project is no longer loaded in the Slicer application.. so I have to configure everything all over again!

Safari even no longer starts back up where I left off; All webpages have to be reloaded. Any plugins done work until I've closed Safari completely (after it was "restored" after powering back on my MacBook) ..

How do I get it to go back to working like it use too? Where if the MacBook went to sleep while not plugged in, it would restore everything back to how it was before... like it did when it goes to sleep when it's actually plugged in!

Thanks for the copy/paste canned response.. But I'm looking for actual answers.

There was no issues prior to the MacOS update; so the change/issue is within MacOS.. not Fusion360.

Additionally I noted more than just Fusion360 applications. One being a first-party app - Safari.

What is wanted is for the MacBook to wake/start up as if it were plugged in; Restoring the system to exactly how it was before it went to sleep..

Disable whatever stupid Hibernation mode is taking effect when the MacBook is running off battery only. I don't care if it reduces battery charge; because if I'm planning to travel with or don't intend to return to the MacBook within a short time, I always manually shut it down.

I want to be able to walk away from the MacBook, take a poo, and return to working on whatever I was doing on the MacBook prior..

That makes no sense.. why would the battery be "malfunctioning" .. It's going to sleep based on the time set. And battery health is reporting being just fine.

Also, the purpose of "sleep/hibernation" is because of the combination of the two.. Hibernation stores a copy of the RAM to disk... hibernatemode 3 by default on MacBooks, and what its currently set to, but it's acting more like hibernatemode 25 ..

Based on your responses to leroydouglas and myself, it appears you don't actually want any help figuring it out.

It may be that you just don't understand what is happening or you failed to describe it such that it makes any sense.

Whether you have Resume active or not, sleep does not cause loss of data. The only thing that does is the device restarting.

Bases on your suggestions you have nothing of value to contribute. You just want someone to bend over and accept your copy/paste post, and mark it as the answer so you feel good and get your gold star for the day..

But sorry, nothing you've posted has any relation to the problem..

The battery is fine, its health is above 90%. And "sleep" is the initial trigger that starts the countdown for such events as disksleep (spindown) and hibernation .. where the data stored in the memory is written to the disk, and either the RAM is powered off or not based on the hibernation mode.

You've provided Zero help at this point..

Makes total sense.. It may be that you just don't understand what is happening or you've failed to comprehend what is being asked.

I've tried this; I think something happened after a recent update, that MacOS is ignoring any "Power Management" changes. I've tried adjusting them via the settings panel (what's available) and via `pmset` in terminal but changes are not fully taking effect.. it appears the change was made when checking via the terminal, but the MacBook is not acting in accordance with those changes.

Because if you used common sense, it would be obvious that I've yet to find a solution. Aside from the obvious system restore, which is a last resort..

Since you've only solicited useless opinions about the "battery", you're just wasting my time..

I'm not sure that I solicited your opinion of your battery, but I do agree your opinion was useless.
