The adaptor that you have pictured is not the one you require.

Instead, you need this type:

Notice the significant difference.

As far as I have always known, the adaptor I've pictured is known as a 30-pin female to male lightning adaptor. It may also be known as a 30-pin female to 8-pin male adaptor. I assume that I don't need to explain exactly why the ends are designated male and female.

However, I spotted the image (elsewhere) that you posted and their heading has incorrectly identified the male and female ends. One of the other pictures on that page has text in the picture, that is correct.

So no matter how the seller identifies the connector, the one you require needs to look like the one I have shown and it should be labelled as 8-pin (or lightning) male to 30-pin female.

You dont understand my dilema pal.

Apparently, I do not.

Is your second post (showing the picture of the adaptor that you bought) a solution to your first post, in which you said:

Your third post says:

so the adaptor i uploaded is correct.

So what is the problem?

That doesn't answer my question, which was: what is the problem? What do you now need help with?

As far as I can see, the adaptor that you bought will do the job. The 30-pin plug shown on the right of your picture will go into the iPod, but only one way round (with the grey icon facing up, to the front side of your iPod) and the 8-pin socket will sit on your dock.

I am also having an issue connecting my iPod Touch (30 pin) to my Bose that has an 8 pin connection. I purchased the adapter show in previous photos on eBay, but I realized after receiving it that it only works for charging. (It states in the description that for iPod Touch it only works for charging.) Has anyone found a product that it will work with to actually play music from my iPod to my Bose?
