Apple Pay - Store return not showing up in my account

I returned a purchase using Apple Pay. On e I got home, I checked my credit card balance and the return has not been deposited. Is there a normal delay with Apple Pay returns being credited, is it my credit company trying to figure our what this weird card number is or is it a vendor delay. Anybody have any idea ?
