How can I fix Calendar alerts not making sound on my iPhone 16?

iphone 16; current on IOS etc; I've researched notifications and haptics etc. My phone is configured the same as my wife's and yet she gets the tone with a calendar reminder and mine is silent (vibrate only). I just used itunes to restore my phone and get a fresh IOS. I'm out of ideas. Anyone have anything I can check to get the tones turned back on for calendar reminders?
