I have an iMac 21.5 retina, bought late 2015,I intend to replace this with a Mac mini.
Can I partician this so that my wife and I can use it independently,as I do with the iMac?
Also will the Magic Mouse and keyboard from my iMac work?
Any other comments?

macOS allows the creation of independent user accounts which you (the admin) can set privilege levels, up to six accounts last I heard. There is no partitioning. My wife and I have separate accounts as you want. No problem.
