How to recover deleted and reported contacts on the Messages app?

I’ve accidentally deleted and reported one important contact as junk, and now I’m unable to receive further messages from them.

Old iMessages for one contact not showing So I was audio messaging a friend and noticed that I could not scroll up see my iMessages. Other contacts iMessages from last year are still there but I cannot scroll up to see my friend’s iMessages. Only the ones sent this morning. I have not backed them up on iCloud. Accidentally Marked an iMessage as "Junk" Saw this question in here and I am not able to reply to it. How to undo marking a message as "junk": tap 'edit' on top left of message app tap 'show recently deleted' tap the thread you want to recover and tap 'recover all' re-add the contact to your contacts list (in my experience, it deleted the contact when I marked it as junk)
