How to ensure QR code works with iPhone Code Scanner?

Hi everyone,

I created a QR code in business card format using Adobe InDesign, and it works perfectly when scanned with both the Camera app on my iPhone (QR scanning is enabled) and on my iPad — the contact info pops up and I can save it without any issues. So the QR code itself is not the problem.

However, when I scan the same QR code using the built-in “Code Scanner” from Control Center on my iPhone (iOS 18.4.1), it just shows a contact icon and then freezes (see screenshot attached) — no contact details appear, and there’s no option to save it.

I’ve tested this same QR code on three other iPhones using both their Camera and Code Scanner, and it works fine on all of them. So I’m pretty sure something’s wrong with my phone specifically.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix?
