iCloud Drive (Archive) ghost folder

I turned on icloud Documents and Desktop a while back and then turned it off because I want my darn files on my hard disk. (Multiply backed up local and cloud.)

Now when I'm searching for files in finder I often see duplicate files that are in a folder at the top of my user folder.

When I click on that folder which would normally open that folder, Mac OS takes me to my top level "me" folder. The archive folder isn't there. Ghost folder.

In the image above, when I instead right-click to Get Info on the folder, I'm told it holds 1.8G.

I'd like to delete that 1.8G folder that I can't even access, in any case. 🙄

Anybody know, what's the story with this?

This whole Adventure in iCloud Land has been a complete cluster for me... Sheesh. (Been using Macs at a pretty high level since 1984...)

Thanks as always!
