Cannot update the firmware on AirPod Pro 2

I am unable to update the firmware that was shipped with my AirPod Pro 2s. I’ve followed several recommendations from Apple Support with no luck. I brought them to the Apple Store where they ran an analysis and confirmed the issue. They shipped them off for repair and a few days later they were returned (without the tips - thank you very much) with a note that they could not reproduce the problem and the firmware would be updated “if applicable”. They did not update the firmware. This is mind boggling to me since they were sent for repair because the firmware could not be updated (very clearly stated).

So, here I am again with an old firmware and Apple has been of zero assistance. I guess I am hoping I might get lucky this time.

You would think so, but they said they couldn’t do it at the store, which is why they sent them out.

They were able to reproduce the issue and spot the error updating the firmware during the in-store analysis. However, I just received a new phone (upgraded from the SE 3rd gen) to the 16e. I was then able to update to the latest firmware. My issue is resolved, but the experience with Apple was less than satisfactory.
