How to recover accidentally erased Macintosh HD on a Mac mini without another Mac?

I accidentally erased Macintosh HD on my Mac Mini, and I don't have another Mac. Plus, I can't get into recovery mode by holding the power button.

"I am pressing the power button, yet I am unable to access recovery mode. Additionally, there is a flashing orange light."

Thank you for the photo.

Flashing Amber (Red) Light:

Run a Diagnostics Test. There may be a hardware issue.

  1. Go Here: Use Apple Diagnostics to Test your Mac - Apple Support
  2. Scroll to: If the SIL flashes
  3. As it Reads: If the SIL flashes white one or more times after you turn on the computer, there may be a hardware issue. To isolate the issue, run Apple Diagnostics.

If the Power Button Isn't Working for Recovery Mode:

See "Startup Options"?

Holding down the power button, you'd see Startup Options, So, click it, and from there select Recovery Mode.

USB Bootable Installer:

Have access to enter Mac? If so, create and use a USB Bootable Installer for your macOS. Go here: Create a Bootable Installer for macOS - Apple Support
