Does Apple Watch Series 6 use iPhone GPS to save battery?

Wondering if my Apple Watch Series 6 will use GPS from paired phone when present(instead of watch's internal GPS) to conserve battery life on watch? Planning a long hike and will be able to charge phone via battery pack.

don't believe any of the watchs support that

maybe even more like the opposite, people report that find my update ones location much more often and precise when the person in question has an apple watch also rather than just an iphone, the default behavior of an iphone is not the gps being active all the time
