"The airpods are fully charged. That is not the problem. The problem is they disconnect from the macbook when an audio message is played and then need to be fully reset back to factory specs before they will work with the macbook again. This is a common problem many people have experienced. I just want to know what the fix is coming."

Getting a Fix Made:
I'm not aware of this issue. But, to get Apple to make a fix, you need to report this to them. These are just user-to-user forums. No one here would know of any fix that is coming out.
Report this to Apple Via Feedback:
Do your Part: Inform Apple of what has occurred. Apple barely reads these forums as it is on their own time. So, to get the word out to them, report it to them. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed. Apple will know nothing about your issue, if you don't report it to them.
- Go Here: Feedback - AirPods - Apple
- Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
- Comment: on when you came across this issue, and the fix. Include the URL of this thread.
- Proceed from there as necessary
Troubleshooting Mac Bluetooth:
Four Things to Try:
A. Verify the Connection:
See if the speaker is even seen:
- Hold Down: the Option key
- Click: the Apple menu
- Select:: About this Mac...
- Click: System Report... button
- Select: Bluetooth (on the left of screen)
- Look For: this Speaker
B. Try Reseting the Core Audio:
Type the following command in Terminal:
sudo killall coreaudiod
C. Perform a SMC and NVRAM Reset:
Sometimes changes are made to the system(i.e. updates) and then settings (i.e. for Power) become manipulated, technically. So, reset both the SMC and NVRAM on your Mac.
D. "Reset the Bluetooth Module":
See my User Tip: Use "Reset the Bluetooth module" to Fix Constant Bluetooth Disconnections - User Tip. Looking at my first comment on it, recommended to Apple that they bring this option back. They discontinued it on even macOS versions.
