How to fix Apple Watch not announcing mileage while running with Bluetooth enabled?

I spoke with several Apple "techs" trying to find out why my Apple watch stopped announcing my mileage while running. No one could figure it out. For two weeks they tried everything under the sun to restart, refresh, you name it, they tried it. I finally diagnosed the issue myself. The only way to get my Apple watch to announce mileage is by turning off blue tooth. Never had to do this before the last update. Wish someone at Apple could fix this. I used to be able to run with headphones and hear my watch announce miles. For years this worked. Now, it no longer works. I have to disable blue tooth to hear it announce. It's a big pain.
