Hooking up my AirPort Extreme to Verizon FIOS modem as an extender

I can see the Airport in the Airport Utility.

It says I have three errors:

STATUS:

Ethernet unplugged

Internet connection

No DNS Servers

It is ethernet connected via a lan slot on each device. It sees my network and the name and password match on network. What am I missing?

Down this have to be. WAN connection? Help. Thanks

In short, I currently have UK fibre to my property set up like this: Fibre from street to house > Optical Network Terminal > Vodafone WiFi router What I'd like to do is remove the Vodafone WiFi router and replace it with a 6th gen Apple AirPort Extreme so we have: Fibre from street to house > Optical Network Terminal > Airport Extreme However when I do this, I'm not getting any internet connection (despite entering the relevant PPPoE credentials), and the AirPort Extreme isn't picking up any IP address. If I keep my existing setup, and connect the AirPort Extreme to the Vodafone router, it does connect to the internet. So my question is - can the AirPort Extreme connect directly to the ONT and replace the wifi router? I thought the ONT acted as the modem, and the Airport could act as the Vodafone WiFi router. Or do I need additional hardware between the ONT and AirPort Extreme to make it work? As expected, Vodafone are no help with 3rd party routers, and Apple tried to help me but couldn't (tech appointment with them on Friday to check the hardware). Anyone with network knowledge who could help would be massively appreciated!!

AirPort Extreme with a Motorola MB7621 Below is a paste of an old question that "no one has replied to in a while." Apple says ask it again. I did not originally ask this question, but I have the exact same question. I am trying to track down if my AirPort Extreme is bad. I have done everything Bob Timmons said. The original asker never followed up, but I need the answer. Can someone continue this answer? My question is how can I tell if my Extreme is no longer any good? It's a 2016 model. My speeds have dropped on WiFi and my modem is delivering around 450mbps on a 500mbps plan with a ethernet connection up from modem to computer. I have followed all the steps below. Bob Timmons User level: Level 10 146,915 points Has anyone been successful using an AirPort Extreme with a Motorola MB7621? I don't have this specific model, but have used different Motorola modems with an AirPort router with no problems. If the modem is operating correctly and the AirPort is as well, the products should work together. Check to make sure that the modem is working correctly by connecting your computer directly to the modem using an Ethernet cable to make sure that you can get a good Internet connection that way. Be sure to turn off the WiFi on the computer to insure that the connection will be over the Ethernet cable. If you can get a good Internet connection with the computer connected directly to the modem, this will confirm that the modem is working correctly. Then we can work on getting the AirPort up and running with the modem. Do you need to first do a factory reset on the Airport? Yes. This must be done whenever you change the modem or change service providers. Post back if you need more details.

Replace Arris surfboard modem with SB8200, now Airport Extreme flashes yellow I replaced my old Arris surfboard modem with a newer Arris Surfboard modem docsis 3.1 - SD8200 I believe - now my wireless connects and shows connected, my my airport extreme is still flashing yellow. I see one setting is on "bridge" which I see in some notes should help this - phone is connecting via wireless. My Airport Express is ME918LLA. My new ARRIS modem does have two ethernet connections as the old one did, but I do see in the ARRIS instructions something about your ISP has to activate the 2nd ethernet cable - Cox said they had done this when I called the new modem in.

my exp says no, on extending the wifi range it only worked with extremes and expresses

but the airport routers are very dated the last model was Discontinued in 2018, if it was me then I would look for newer equipment
