MacBook Air Not Detecting External Drives – Need Help!

While I was transferring data to an external hard drive on my MacBook Air, the connection was interrupted because my little brother accidentally unplugged it. Since then, my laptop doesn’t recognize the external hard drive anymore — not just that one, but any external drive. However, when I connect other accessories to the same port, they work fine. Also, the external hard drive works perfectly on another computer. What could be the problem? Is there anyone who can help me? Thank you in advance.
