Storage recommendations not showing on my MacBook Air

Apple Macbook Air running Sequoia 15.3.2, will not show Storage recommendations when I go through System Settings / General / Storage. It shows the available space, but does not allow recommendations. I need to optimise storage. Icloud is enabled and has plenty of space.

Why is my computer storage showing full when I have a ton of iCloud storage available? My mac is showing the "storage almost full" notification. Under manage, "iCloud storage" is an option and I have a ton of that storage still available, but the "iCloud storage" under the sidebar is showing as empty. How to manage storage on MacBook Air M3? I have a 6-month old MacBook Air M3 with latest MacOS, but is acting very slowly. It may be HDD related. HDD 245 GB space but usage by to nearly 80%. System data 58.47 GB MacOS 29.84 GB iOS files 33.28 GB Applications 70.33 GB 191.92 GB 78% used by Mac so only 22% available for my stuff (movies, music, docs). This can't be right. What do you suggest I do to free up system and MacOS space? And why is there 33.28 GB of iOS data on my Mac? Can I delete it all? Thank you.

Note what optimize storage does. Perhaps it doesn’t apply to you. “Store in iCloud” should help.
