How can I easily manage my child's contacts on iPhone without their approval?

This feature boggles my mind. It needs to be easier for parents to manage their childs' contacts. Why in the world should my child have to approve my request to manage their contacts? I'm trying to keep my child from interacting with potentially harmful relationships and apple is making it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. I'm so frustrated with this feature, and the screentime system in general is a complete trainwreck. APPLE - PLEASE MAKE THIS EASIER FOR PARENTS!!!! I've been so frustrated for years with this feature.
