Can I just replace the battery on a MacBook Pro M2?

I visited the nearest Apple store to enquire about the cost of replacing a macbook pro M2 Pro battery turns out to replace the battery the whole Keyboard and touchpad bascially the whole top part of the Mac has to be replaced is this true ? Is there an alternative to this .. I have a 2023 Macbook Pro M2 Pro please guide me

That is correct. What you were told is the process for replacing the battery in the newest MacBook computers. The battery is a glued in part of the top case so the fastest, easiest fix is to replace that whole assembly.


There really is no other alternative.


I'm surprised that the battery in a 2023 model computer needs replacement so soon. But if that's the case, then the fix is as you were told.

In the US, the cost of battery replacement SERVICE from Apple is about US$250 all included, and includes a 90 day warranty or the repair.


They will indeed replace the entire Top Case Assembly, including keyboard, trackpad, top plate, and battery.


There are NO separate parts available at any price.
