I and my family have owned several flavors of MacBook that have physically lasted over a decade with only batteries replaced. They finally outlived their productive usefulness only because they were unable to run newer, more modern versions of macOS.

So yes, MacBooks can last over a decade! 👍🏽

Are you referring to: hardware, security updates, MacOS updates, app compatibility, support, or something else?

"Do MacBooks last over a decade?"

-------

A Last[ing] Mac:

They might last for a decade, but there could always be a faulty issue, such as a cording battery. After 7 years, updates are discontinued for the model. So, create a Time Machine Backup of your Mac, that way you will have something to restore your Mac from, should it fail (IOW: no longer last).
