Using Numbers on Mac mini M2 Sonoma 14.5 today my numbers program has the page setup grayed out. I updated printer driver, no change. Pages program works fine.

Not sure where you see "page setup." After I choose File > Print in the menu I see 'Print Setup'.
If you are still having trouble have you tried restarting your Mac?

I have to admit, I'm not seeing the problem here...
The 'Print Setup' text you see is simply the label for the whole sidebar, which is where your Page Setup options (orientation, page size, scale, etc. are). Granted, these are normally displayed in a separate dialog box in most apps, but Numbers opts to use the Inspector sidebar for this.
From here you can adjust your page settings, see the effects dynamically. Clicking Print... at the bottom may offer printer-specific options such as duplex printing, watermarking, etc., if those are the features you're looking for.
I should have written Print Setup. I did restart with no change. Downloaded new print drivers, no change. I've had this Mac mini for about a year - never had this problem.
Print Setup is a panel at the right. Are you saying that the whole thing is greyed out? Can you post a screenshot?
