New Kenwood Car Radio Doesn’t See iPod Classic…Help Please

My new car radio doesn’t recognize my Classic, so I have to figure how to either get it to see my Classic or find a way to transfer t something it will see. There is a USB connector and my iPhone is Bluetooth connected. Help please.

The iPod Classic doesn’t behave like a standard USB mass storage device, so most modern car stereos with USB ports won’t recognize it as a usable audio source. Instead, the iPod relies on Apple’s proprietary iPod Accessory Protocol (IAP) over the 30-pin dock connector, which many car stereos don’t support anymore unless they were specifically designed with iPod integration in mind.

The best workaround? If your car has AUX input, plug the iPod into that using a 3.5mm stereo cable. You'll control everything from the iPod itself, but audio will play through the car’s speakers.
