Apple Keyboard not working using WIN 10 on my IMAC

Hello,
I have just installed Win10 on my IMAC using bootcamp. Now, when starting Windows, I have to
enter my PIN on the Start screen, previously defined during installation.
But it was not possible,
to enter any character on my apple keyboard. When connecting a win keyboard it works.
When starting MAC OS ,I have to enter the PIN by the Windows keybord, When MAC OS ist running,
both both keybords were working.
What can I do, to use the Apple Keyboard on both systems.

Kind regards
Rainer

Looks like something is definitely up with your keyboard setup. Your message is formatted as though it was program code. First things first: can you start up in macOS with the Apple keyboard connected, and are you then able to update/upgrade macOS as far as your machine will allow? In theory, this should upgrade your Mac's system firmware and applicable peripheral firmware to the latest known versions.

Once you are up-to-date, you can try resetting the PRAM and SMC.

  • Reset PRAM: Command-Option-P-R at boot time (Windows keyboard: Win-Alt-P-R). Wait to release those keys until the machine has chimed 4 times.
  • Reset SMC: Turn off and then remove the power cable from your unit and the wall; wait 15 s; plug it all back in; wait a further 5 s; re-power.

If that doesn't work, you may also want to move this issue over to the iMac boards here, as this appears not to be isolated to Windows and so there's a better chance that someone else could have bumped into this exact issue.

Good luck,

Nate
