why does apple music auto stream to my apple tv

Periodically when I open Apple Music and want to listen to a song the stream to Apple TV (A or B) or even my HomePod is auto selected and starts playing on tv. This usually happens when I use the Apple TV remote on my phone to turn the tv on and start watching tv. Then let’s say I’m sitting there but want to listen to a song really quickly when I open Apple Music the Airplay automatically sends it to the tv and there’s no way to stop it without allowing it to play then in the airplay devices selecting iPhone which is not an option prior to the music playing.
