How do I fix the Mail App not sending emails on macOS 15.4.1?

I recently switched providers for my Internet connection, but other mail accounts (school and Yahoo) have no issues receiving and I can send using iCloud Mail on my wifi iPad or my iPhone. It seems the Mail App in the updated OS is the problem. I was hoping the latest upgrade from OS 15.4 to 15.4.1 might fix it but no luck. I've tried rebooting but no luck.

Update: I also have an Intel Mac mini that is rarely used. It also is running Mac OS 15.4. It has same problem as my MacBook Pro running 15.4. It will not send out e-mails. Like my other devices it is connected to Internet via my wifi. My wifi iPad running latest iPad OS is able to send e-mails on that connection. My conclusion is that there is something in MacOS 15.4 (or its Mail App) not fixed with latest update (15.4.1) that blocks sending e-mails.

Found this in another chat:

You need to change the 'Check spelling' feature.

If, 'Check Spelling: When I Click Send' is currently selected.

You need to change it to either 'As I Type' or 'Never'.

Go To: Mail > Settings > Composing > Check spelling: [change to one of the above]

Confirm one of these new settings are selected, Exit Settings and you'll be good to go.

Apple have confirmed today 8th April 2025 it is a known issue that when sending an email with Spell Check selected as 'When I Click Send' Apple Mail freezes.

Please pass this workaround and fix on to others in other Chats. This issue, since the Sequoia 15.4 [24E248] Upgrade has been driving me nuts!! All good now 👍🏻
