How to access a deceased person's iPad without their passcode?

My dad died and I’m trying to set his iPad up for my daughter but I don’t know his passcode to get into it is there anyway I can get into it without it or be able to reset it?

You cannot.


The passcode is required to access the iPad. No way around it.


Without it, all you can do is restore it to factory settings.


You will need access to the Apple ID used on the iPad to set it up again though.

during set up and with access to their Apple account you can restore a backup onto to it to access its data.


Apple can help you access the Apple Account if you provide the required documents.
