How do I fix FaceTime call failures after upgrading iMac from Sonoma to Sequoia?

Since upgrading my iMac 27" from Sonama to Sequoia, I can no longer make FaceTime calls. My MacBook Pro still remains fine. All devices are on the latest versions (MacBook remains on Sonama) but I just receive 'Call Failed' when I attempt to make or receive calls.

I have logged in and out of Apple ID, restarted (safe mode also) and rejoined WiFi network.

This all started after upgrading to Sequoia.

I get maybe one call after a restart before the problem occurs.

Am no expert in this area, yet your post to the community deserves some response.

You might want to check requirements : eg: what those you call need for FaceTime

_________

Sometimes third-party apps you've installed, and that you find necessary may need updating .

ie: so they remain compatible with MacOS, and don't cause interference:

___________

Unnecessary third-party apps, eg: virus-checkers, ad-blockers, cleaners and the like (even VPN) may cause interference. Try turning them off, (or use uninstallers from their developers) and see if that helps.

Eg;says:

"If you need help with your connection or call quality

A slow or busy Wi-Fi network might cause issues with your FaceTime call.

If you experience connection alerts, or low-quality audio or video, or an exclamation point over a video tile:

  • Make sure that you and your recipient have a fast Wi-Fi or cellular connection. FaceTime calls over Wi-Fi require a broadband connection.
  • Check for issues that might be slowing down your connection, such as someone streaming content over your network.
  • If you have questions about your internet speed, contact your internet service provider."

Thanks for your prompt response. I have tried everything here suggested and last night rebooted off of a clone running Sequoia, everything worked first time and tested repeatedly with no failures. Which rules out an awful lot of the answers and that the hardware, WiFi and infrastructure are sound. This all points to the Sequoia OS or something in it that differs.
