How do I resolve eps preview issues and Magic Mouse connectivity on MacBook Pro?

I have not used my brand new (now old Macbook pro) because OS will not preview eps files. And now my current macbook pro that can see eps previews - won;t work with a new Magic Mouse. I'm done, baked and thinking of a simon and garfunkle song... my bags are....

I fonly i had a work-around to the eps preview... but now a mouse. Too complex for me.

thank you for taking time to reply.

that a mouse becomes 'complicated' is over-complicated.

That Apple wrote off existing asset libraries within what is unarguably a system used by Professionals - so libraries of value, is costly. I own a Studio with multiple workstations and laptops - I am astounded at Apples resilience in not wanting to allow Users to decide risk vrs asset investment. Apple has the best "find" function - but the other guys just have more flex, and a switch is easy, rather transparent given software interoperability - and is the next step as refreshes occur.

I'm guessing that the reason they pulled PostScript and Encapsulated PostScript support was for "security".

PostScript is a full-blown programming language. It just so happens that most PostScript programs are designed to produce printed or displayed images, but it is possible to write malware in PostScript.

If you're thinking about switching platforms, note that Microsoft has also taken action to remove some support for Encapsulated Postscript. They turned it off by default in April 2017, and then turned it off permanently (no method to re-enable the feature) in May 2018. That was several years before the change Apple made in late 2022 with the release of macOS Ventura.

Microsoft Support – Support for EPS images has been turned off in Office
