Slip Edits with Attached Clips

Final Cut Pro 11:

If I do a SLIP edit (the "T" keyboard shortcut) just to move the content a bit within a clip, and I have audio or a title attached to the clip, the attached clips will move with the content in the main clip! This seems wrong.

This problem is very annoying when all I want to do is slip the video to slightly alter the content of a clip in the main story line. Any titles, lower 3rds, music, or voice-over audio attached to this clip SHOULD NOT MOVE when I slip the video content, but it does.

  • Am I doing something wrong?
  • Is there a work-around for this problem?
  • Is this a bug that Apple should fix?

Thanks ahead of time. I will look forward to replies on this.

Well how about that! It works! Only the video clip slips and everything else stays in place, just as it should. This will be a huge time saver for me.

This should be the DEFAULT BEHAVIOR for this tool. I cannot envision a situation when slipping a video clip in the main story line that you would want everything attached to it to move, too.

Thanks, Terry!
