Apple Music and Windows 11 won't play m4p files

In recent weeks, both Apple Music and the legacy Windows Media player no longer play my many, older, m4p files. I had to migrate to Apple Music from iTunes as per recommendations of Apple Customer Support because recent updates in iTunes caused it to stop synching with my iPhone. Any suggestions on how to play these music files?
