Need Help - How do you totally purge a book loaded into Books app from an email?

How do you totally purge a book loaded into Books app from an email? Hidden file remains which destroys ability to proof read! Unable as hidden file left disrupts next version of book!

Have attempted for many years to have Apple modify "Books" app to give choice when removing book. Question should be asked with description of two choices ...

Remove? Leave behind last position read, highlights, bookmarks and notes (but hide them)? Will allow book to be recalled as it existed before "Remove command".

Purge? Destroy all evidence of book loaded from an email or Apple's bookstore ever having been in iPad! New version of book downloaded via email will be as author intended it to be read!

Note: I have been writing and publishing books directly written as ePub files for over nine years! Have attempted many times to have Apple ask people the above simple question. I have had to buy multiple iPads due to Apple's failure to provide method to completely remove a book loaded to permit proofreading!

Problem occurs on all of our iPads!
