If you can't remember your firmware password, schedule an in-person service appointment with an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider ( Find Locations )

Bring your Mac to the appointment, and bring your original receipt or invoice as proof of purchase.

See the article

Note: The firmware password isn’t required on a Mac with Apple silicon because the critical firmware functionality it restricted has been moved into the recoveryOS and (when FileVault is enabled) recoveryOS requires user authentication before its critical functionality can be reached.

Perform an Apple Configurator 2 DFU "Restore" and the firmware password will be removed.

An AC2 Restore will only remove the firmware password, NOT Activation Lock.

Note— Restore will wipe out ALL your user data
