Hi rusaik,

I experienced the exact same kernel panic when I tried to upgrade multiple macOS installations from 15.3.2 to 15.4. That said, Apple recently released macOS Sequoia 15.4.1, and I was able to install that without any issues. Let us know if you're able to install 15.4.1 on your end.

I've had better luck from the Safe Mode in the past because I evidently had some 3rd party software that interfered with the downloading and installing so try the following:

#1 - boot into Safe Mode according to Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3-5 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

#2 - go to the System/Software Update preference pane and begin the download.

#3 - download and run the installer from the Safe Mode.

Worked with One Individual who's computer was Stuck on Sequoia 15.1.1 released Nov 19, 2024

After much Q & A and Terminal Downloads of Full Version 15.4

Still not go at that point

Come to find out, they had a Third Party Security Software installed with an endpoint Kernel Extension installed

Totally Useless software that only creates problems and is total un-needed

The pointing being that having to use DFU Mode would the the Very Last cause of action to be taken if All Other Avenues have failed

PS - Have updated 1 M1, 1 M2, 1 M3 and 1 M4 from Squioa 15.0 to every single version and currently running Sequoia 15.4 on each machine without any issues

Humour here.

The only issue I have had is which machine to update first
