There has to be a better way to convert Tables to Text

I’m using Pages 14 and I’m trying to convert a table of 10 rows to text. I did it once on my iPad using Notepad to strip the table formatting from the text but, now that’s not working so I thought Pages on Mac must be easier - and it isn’t! I constantly tout my Mac as a fantastic machine but when it comes to word processing I’m about to buy Microsoft Office! Not only that but searching to community posts I’m constantly sent to a post about Pages 10. If you’ve seen that post you know why I say just retype the text, it’s far easier.

Can someone enlighten me on the best way to convert a table to text without having to insert a Text Box (which I really don’t want) and then turning off all manner of formatting.

If you can’t feel my frustration please to take me though a process greater than Cut, Paste, TurnOff Table.

Pages only supports copy/paste of a table selection into a Text box where the tabs are used for separation. One can then subsequently copy that Text box content pasting into the body text, and then remove the Text box. This is the price of a free consumer application that is not a Word clone and for those who like to inflict pain on themselves.

You will need MS Word or LibreOffice Writer. In MS Word, there is Convert text to a table or a table to text.
