No longer able to drag downloads directly from Safari

Earlier today I updated my MacBook to macOS Sequoia 15.4. Prior to this I was able to drag downloaded files straight from the Safari downloads tab onto my desktop. However after updating I am only able to find these downloads in Finder, or adjust my settings to put downloads immediately onto my desktop. Is there a way to fix this? Although putting them directly onto my desktop works, I'd prefer to be able to drag them where I want immediately myself.

Having a similar issue, still couldn't find a solution for this problem. Mine started a month ago, I used to download files and then drag and drop them from the Safari browser download icon list to WhatsApp attachment, or other workspaces, it is now resulting in dropping a corrupted file, and some platforms are also even saying that those platforms are unable to import such format.
