Apple Watch Burning Skin
I’ve had a Series 4 since it came out. I’ve had no issues at all with that watch. I dropped it and smashed the screen a few months ago and purchased myself a brand new series 10, within a couple weeks of wearing it I noticed redness on my skin and flaking, the spot was also very itchy. I didn’t pay any mind to it and continued wearing it for a couple more weeks until I looked at my wrist one day and saw that the patch got much bigger and it was much worse. I’ve had no issues with this brand new watch except a software bug where it would continuously ask for my Apple ID password multiple times a day, but other than that, the watch seem to work perfectly fine and was close to brand new. I wear my watch almost 24/7 and only take it off when I’m taking a shower. The burn wound that it caused is a circular shape so I can definitely rule out that it isn’t the computer of the watch itself, but it is the sensors that are causing a burn on my skin probably while the watch is tracking my vitals in sleep mode. I don’t understand how Apple could let something of this magnitude slide, Apple Watch is advertised to be worn all day & night as a health companion, yet my watch is frying my wrist the longer I wear it. I went to my family doctor and she confirmed that it is in fact a signifiant burn and not skin irritation. I took my watch to the Apple Store and I am waiting for an update on my repair. As an Apple customer for almost 12 Years, is there really nothing else? Aren't I and other customers who were burnt by this device liable to some kind of compensation? I knew this wasn't a small issue as the reaction from the store employees were quite panicked. Yet I see burns similar to mine tracing all the way back to 2018/2019 on models as early as the series 8. The images and posts are all over Apple forums and Reddit. I don't understand the lack of transparency as there is clearly a way bigger probelm at large with newer Apple Watch models and their sensors.
