IOS 18.3.2_New problem w/update, auto “fogging,” or “shadowing” upper & lower parts of zoomed in photos
I would like to get the Community’s experience with & understanding of the following change to photo editing. What do you surmise is the purpose? Have you found any way to get rid of it?
This is a hard one to explain b/c it makes no sense for this to occur by design, but it does. The screenshots will illustrate what I mean.
(Please note: I uploaded 2 photos, but I don’t see them on here, so can’t see if they illustrate the issue well enough.)
When editing photos on oi up my iPhone SE (2nd gen, 2020), less so & only on the top on iPad (Pro, 11”, 4th gen), as I edit photos, when I zoom in on various parts to better see the effects of an edit, e.g., contrast, brilliance, etc., a fogging, or shadowing, of the upper & bottom, almost 2/3rds of the photo appears, making it difficult to see the effects of the adjustments on the tops & bottoms of the zoomed-in photo.
While I have my finger on the screen moving the value up or down, the entire photo comes into focus, but only while my finger is there, so I can’t do anything else with the photo.
Why Apple made this completely unnecessary & in no way useful change is baffling & makes for a frustrating experience working with my photos & I thought I’d try asking the Apple Community if you’ve found a solution or work-around.
If you experience this, too, & don’t like it, please contact Apple like I did on its feedback page & let them know.
I can’t help but wonder how some of the changes that appear in IOS updates get past the reviewers & are signed off on by managers.
