Why does my Apple TV keep losing connection to my TV?

For a few weeks now, my Apple TV will lose its connection to my TV. The Apple TV never loses power, when I hit the home button, the Apple TV with establish its connection again for a second and lose it again. The only fix I’ve found is to unplug the box from power, allow it to reset over the course of 30 minutes minimum. Then watch again only to experience the same cycle again within a few hours. Please help.

  1. Disconnect the HDMI cable on both ends, then reconnect. This should reset the HDMI connection.
  2. Verify that the HDMI plug and the power plug on the Apple TV box are seated firmly in their sockets.
  3. Try restarting the TV (not standby-wake, but a real restart) as well.
  4. Try a different HDMI port on your TV.
  5. Try a different HDMI cable.
  6. Try connecting the Apple TV box to a different TV. Does the same issue happen?
