Issues with MacBook Registration – Not Appearing on Apple’s Coverage Site

Hello,

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro with the M4 chip from a third-party seller, and everything seems to be in perfect working condition. However, when I attempt to check its warranty status using Apple’s Check Coverage tool, it doesn’t appear in the system. The seller mentioned that this may be due to the fact that the unit was received before the official launch, which could explain why it doesn’t show in Apple’s system.

I’ve also checked the MacBook through “About This Mac,” and everything looks great, including the firmware and the specs, which align with the official model. However, I’m concerned about the potential lack of official support or warranty if it’s not registered correctly.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with early-release or demo units, and is there a way to get this MacBook properly registered in Apple’s system?

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Apple does not sell early release or demo units. Considering the fact you purchased it from a third party seller it may not have been legal for them to sell, and therefore ineligible for official support or warranty coverage.

If you can return it to the third party seller for a full and immediate cash refund, do so. Always purchase Macs either directly from Apple or from an authorized Apple seller. To find one, start here: Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple
