How do I move my entire iTunes library from my old PC to my new Mac

I have an old PC with about 13,000 songs in iTunes, mostly ripped from my old CD collection over the years. That iTunes on my old PC was with an old/previous Apple ID.

How can I transfer all that music to my new MacBook while keeping play counts, playlists etc? My new MacBook and iTunes are with a different Apple ID, if that's relevant.

Thank you!

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.3

Music ripped from CDs is not tied to a specific Apple ID in any way.

If your library is consolidated (media in a single location), you can simply copy the entire iTunes folder in your Music folder to an external drive, and then copy it from there to the new Mac. Then open the Music App on the new Mac while holding down the option key on your keyboard and it will prompt you to select a library to load. Navigate to the iTunes Library you just copied and select the iTunesLibrary.itl file from it.

If it's not consolidated, you will need to make it portable first and then you can copy it to the new Mac as above.
