How can I protect my Apple ID from unauthorized access and devices?

has anybody had a strange legacy device added to their apple id account after a visit to an apple store? I came home after a visit to apple trafford park and found a new device (iphone xr) had been added to my account with all the same rights and accesses as my own devices. Very weird and a bit scary i had no notifications on my other devices or anything, has anyone else had this?

I would suggest to request a copy of your Privacy Report. I have not done it myself so don't know if it shows date of sign in, but thought I would suggest it since it claims it shows sign in records.

Since it shows as iOS 16, it may have been signed in along time ago. Of course I would also recommend changing your password after removal. Please post back if you choose to request a copy of your data and if it does show sign in of devices.

I know and i have done, the point of the post is why was it put there and by who? The phone simply went in for a replacement screen and it was in the possession of apple “geniuses” in the shop the whole time so has an apple employee done this for nefarious reasons?
