I woke up to a notification this morning saying my in date card is longer in use and I had to remove it from my Apple wallet. I use Apple Pay yesterday just fine and I’m confused to why I’ve had to remove it

The personal and financial information in your Apple Wallet is anonymous to Apple. It’s all encrypted and Apple does not have the key.
Only you and your bank can add or remove items in the Wallet app. If you received a notification, it would have come from your bank.
