Why does my word is so slow on my macbook pro?

Hi,

My Word version is 16.91. It is a personal annual account and was downloaded from the official website, then I just kept it autoupdated. My Macbook Pro is Sonoma 14.5. I am just wondering why my word is extremely slow?

Every time I open Word, it looks good and smooth within the first few minutes, but then it becomes hard to use. Whatever I operated it, like editing or just scrolling the page down, it took a few seconds to respond. Then I have to close and open it very frequently to keep it alive.

My computer has no problem, even the word is freezing, like now, I can still open and use other apps as usual, including the Excel and Powerpoint, --they still look good so far, only Word met this problem.

It is really frustrating! Anyone can help?
