Don’t Have The Option to Message in All-iPhone Groupchat

I recently left an iMessage groupchat (because the guys were annoying me) and was added back by a friend hours later. I don’t have the option/text box to send a message now. This has happened a few times the last few months. I see every message that comes in, but I can’t react, reply, or take part in the chat at all. Has anybody found a fix for this glitch?
