(Mac) Apple Mail Downloading Messages Constantly

Hello everyone,

I've been experiencing an issue where Apple Mail continuously downloads all emails repeatedly, this bug is only with Google Gmail account. I'm running macOS 15.3.2 (24D81), but this problem seems to have existed for a long time.

Steps I’ve Tried Without Success

• Restarting the Mac
• Rebuilding Apple Mail
• Going offline and then back online
• Removing and re-adding the Gmail account
• Running in Safe Mode
• Completely reinstalling macOS

None of these have resolved the Gmail sync issue.

Please, let’s make this post viral. This issue has been reported to Apple for years, yet in 2025 with Sequoia, it remains unresolved. Apple blames Google and vice versa, but Gmail works fine on other clients like Outlook and Spark for Mac.. We don’t want to switch email clients, we want a fix from Apple.

Has anyone in the community found a permanent fix for this in plenty 2025? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
